Hi, I’m Cassidy.
You’re the one everyone calls. The friend who remembers every birthday, the daughter who handles the hard conversations, the one who checks on everyone else first. You’re very good at taking care of people. And somewhere along the way, you got very quiet about what you need.
Then you start trying to grow your family, and suddenly it’s all about your body, your needs, your decisions. You don’t quite know how to take up that much space. You smile through another pregnancy announcement. You nod while the doctor rushes past your questions. You answer “So when are you two having kids?” for the hundredth time, then go home and replay it all night. Or the baby is finally here, everyone is asking about the baby, and you can’t remember the last time someone asked about you.
That’s usually when people find me.
You keep saying “I’m fine” while quietly running on empty.
You can research every protocol but can’t name what you’re feeling.
You’re in another two-week wait and can’t focus on anything else.
You’re grieving a loss or a failed cycle and feel like you should be over it by now.
You might be here because
You’re pregnant and already worried about who will take care of you once the baby comes.
You’re back at work after baby and feel like you’re falling short everywhere.
You’re doing all of this far from your people.
If even one of these landed, you’re in the right place.
Before becoming a mother, I spent nearly three years navigating infertility. I know the calendar math, the waiting, the appointments you sit through alone because you didn’t want to ask anyone to take time off. I know how lonely it feels to be surrounded by people when no one really knows what you’re carrying.
I started my career as a case manager in community behavioral health, working with people the system too often overlooks. In graduate school, I researched how often women have been left out of the mental health research that’s supposed to help treat them. That changed my direction, and I focus on reproductive and women’s mental health with passion. I’ve provided individual and group therapy to clients at every stage, from trying to conceive through infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and the parenting years that follow.
As a military spouse, I’ve also rebuilt home in new places more than once, so I understand doing hard things without your usual support system nearby.
I know this road
What we will work on
If you put everyone else first. This is where we turn toward you. We’ll explore the needs that went unmet, the old wounds behind your people-pleasing, and what it would actually look like to put yourself on the list. Then, we’ll practice. We’ll figure out the real words for setting a boundary with your mother-in-law, asking your partner for what you need, or pushing back in the exam room when something doesn’t feel right.
If you live in your head. If you’re the kind of person who can research every protocol but can’t name what you’re feeling, we’ll work on reconnecting your logical mind and your emotional mind, so you’re not stuck replaying, analyzing, and bracing for the next result.
If you’re grieving. Whether it’s a pregnancy loss, a failed cycle, or the version of parenthood you pictured, we’ll make room for that grief without letting it swallow you, and we’ll find your way back to what matters to you.
If you’re pregnant or newly postpartum. We’ll work through the anxiety, the identity shift, and the “why don’t I feel how I thought I would?” We’ll also figure out what support you actually need, and how to ask for it before you’re running on fumes.
What clients often notice
Asking the doctor the question in the room, instead of replaying it at 2 a.m.
Getting through a baby shower or pregnancy announcement without spiraling for days.
Telling a partner or family member what they need before resentment builds.
Being able to name a feeling and sit with it, instead of researching their way around it.
How I work with you
You’re the expert on your life, your story, your body, your symptoms. I think of it like a road trip. You’re in the driver’s seat and you choose the destination. I’m in the passenger seat with the map, helping you find the route.
In our first sessions, we’ll set goals together based on where you are and where you want to go. From there, I draw on therapy modalities which could include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you build practical skills, work through hard emotions, and practice the conversations that matter most. Sessions aren’t just talking about boundaries. We role-play them, so you leave with words you can actually use.
I’ll bring warmth, and I’ll bring humor, because this work is heavy and laughing a little helps. I’ll also gently challenge you when it counts. You don’t need a therapist who just agrees with you. You need one who’s on your team.
Why clients choose me
I’ve been where you are. I’ve lived through infertility myself. You don’t have to explain what a negative test or a canceled cycle does to you or the basics of how this all works.
Boundaries in practice, not just theory. We role-play the actual conversations, so you leave with words you can use, not only insights.
Support for every stage. From trying to conceive through pregnancy, loss, postpartum, and parenting, in both individual and group therapy.
Warm, but not a simple yes-person. I’ll hold space for you while helping you to grow, because both matter.

What to expect
1. Request a consult. Fill out the short form here. Dr. Perera, the Natal Counseling founder, gets back to you the same or next day.
2. Complimentary 15-minute call together. Tell me a little about what’s going on, ask any questions, and see if we feel like a good fit. No pressure, no commitment.
3. Your first session. A 50-minute video session where we talk through your story and set goals that matter to you. In ongoing sessions, we are doing intentional work to achieve those goals and/or change them up as you desire.
4. Ongoing sessions. Most clients start with weekly sessions. Some clients work together with me for a couple months and others for years. We adjust frequency as things improve. Between sessions, we find ways to take what we work on into your real life outside of our time together so you see that real impact you’re after.
Outside the therapy room
Outside the therapy room, I love spending time with my family: my spouse, our daughter, our dog, and two cats. My favorite part of the day is an evening walk around the neighborhood, disconnected from electronics and recharging. I love baking and cooking, and I’ve recently started exploring the world of sourdough bread. When I’m not with my family or in the kitchen, you’ll find me taking care of myself with bubble baths, skincare, and music.
